H&A
renewables

As renewable energy sources are becoming mainstream, there is a strong and growing drive towards their wide scale use. To encourage this, more support, in the form of grants and funding, is being made available to make changing over an affordable alternative. Environmentally friendly energy sources are not only cleaner, but sustainable over the long term.

H&A are continually looking into emerging technologies. So far solar heating, geo-thermal energy, wind turbines and wood pellet technology are areas H&A are delivering on.

Solar:
  • Passive solar design ensures that a building’s form and fabric capture the sun’s energy.
  • Active Solar converts solar radiation into heat which can be used directly or stored.
  • Solar photovoltaic panels or solar cells convert daylight into electricity.
Wind:
  • The UK has the largest potential wind energy resource in Europe and H&A are continually sourcing the latest technology for harnessing the power contained in moving air.
Underfloor and Geo-thermal:
  • Ground Source energy extracted from low temperature heat found at relatively shallow depths are suitable for underfloor heating.
Wood Pellet:
  • As this wood is so condensed, burning of pellets is very efficient and consists of low emissions, therefore less harmful gases are released into the air. Additionally, wood pellets are a by-product, not a primary product i.e. produced from recycled wood.
The systems used within the above not only significantly reduce the impact on the environment but they deliver amazing efficiency, without sacrifice in home comfort or convenience and no extra effort for the homeowner.
